Kailithe (Kay-lith) Solace Guard, Elven Wizard (Played by Erik Rehpohl)

Kailithe Solace Guard-2 – D&D Character Creator File

Kailithe D&D 4E Character Sheet- PDF Version of the D&D Character Creator File

Bio and Details

Solace: “Consolation,” Comfort in a time of distress.

Guard: “A person who protects and/or watches over something.”

SolaceGuards are an ancestral family of Ambassadors and counselors. As such my parents are the second generation with The Feywood Elves. Mother, Elistrad, and one sister, Venatia, live at home in Hylea. Elder brothers, Continoir and Phaminae, are off in the world. Father disappeared while traveling west when I was a pubertal. I have been sent to Blackfield to start learning associations with other Demi-human races.

Kailithe is a stalwart believer in “crisp.” This would be a good personal belief in oneself. Keeping ones hygiene, physical radius along with their environment in good array is something all should strive for. “Paying it forward” to others and assisting in the cosmos is a selection not an accident. Applying thyself from the young to old, weak to mighty, ignorant to knowledgeable.

Kailithe has the ritual “Fastidiousness,” posted here for reference:

Fastidiousness
You are clean, and you would like to remain so, even while digging through aboleth slime for lost treasures.
Level: 1
Category: Warding
Time: 10 minutes
Duration: 24 hours
Component Cost: 10 gp
Market Price: 50 gp
Key Skill: Arcana (no check)You or a creature within 2 squares of you is warded against becoming dirty. No matter what the target does, touches, walks through, or experiences, the target’s person, clothes, and carried possessions are not soiled. If the target is in any way soiled when the ritual is completed, that filth is immediately shed. Attacks or other effects that involve dirtying the character work as normal but leave no lasting waste or residue.
First published in Dragon Magazine 366.

Kailithe performs this with his morning habits to maintain a “crisp” appearance for himself. If he will be doing hard manual labor or weapon/fighting practice he will forego this in his daily routine. “There is Worth in exertion of your physical being.” Is a slight perfectionist, “a place for everything and everything in its place!” I would progress to be an emissary for Ioun and my affiliates, whom ever they are at the time for the betterment of good. Immerse myself in knowledge of all races/creatures and magic. Teach others where possible and be a life coach to the down trodden.

DM Notes

  • None of note!

Actions of Note

  • Made a trade deal with Tristan (proprietor of findings) to collect spell components from viable monsters. Tristan will discount Kailithe 25% off new item prices and buy back items at 50% of their value.

Alignment

  • Good

Here’s some other lvl 1 rituals from sources other than the PHB. You’d have to check with John to see if they are ok.

Amanuensis

You touch the writing, tracing each character or glyph with a gently glowing crystal. As you do so, the words you flicker into existence onto the specially prepared parchment before solidifying into a near-perfect copy.

Level: 1
Category: Creation
Time: 10 minutes
Duration: Permanent
Component Cost: 10 gp
Market Price: 20 gp
Key Skill: Arcana (no check)

You capture the writing from one source (a book, scroll, or tablet) and cause it to appear onto a special prepared paper, parchment, book, or some other similar item. This ritual copies up to 250 words of text, enough to fill one page with text. A copied illustration counts as a number of words proportional to the amount of the page the illustration requires.

This ritual can be used to copy a ritual scroll, even if you have not mastered the ritual on the original scroll. Creating a ritual scroll in this manner takes twice as long as creating a ritual book but has the same cost (in addition to the component cost of this ritual).

Arcane Mark

Onto the object’s surface you etch a glowing rune, which shimmers for a moment before fading, marking the item as your own.

Level: 1
Category: Creation
Time: 5 minutes
Duration: Permanent
Component Cost: 10 gp
Market Price: 20 gp
Key Skill: Arcana (no check)

You set your personal arcane mark on an object. It manifests as a unique sigil of your devising. After the first moment, it is invisible and can be seen only by a creature using Arcana to detect magic. Ritual casters use arcane marks to identify their property and sometimes to designate places of great import.

Explorer’s Fire

You enchant a fire so that it isn’t visible from more than a short distance, in the hope that it won’t attract unwanted attention.

Level: 1
Category: Exploration
Time: 10 minutes
Duration: 8 hours
Component Cost: 10 gp
Market Price: 50 gp
Key Skill: Arcana or Nature

You alter one fire of bonfire size or smaller within 5 squares of you. Light cast by the fire cannot be seen from more than 5 squares from the fire. The fire’s light is unchanged within that radius, and the ritual does not diminish or contain the fire’s heat or sounds.

Fastidousness

You are clean, and you would like to remain so, even while digging through aboleth slime for lost treasures.

Level: 1
Category: Warding
Time: 10 minutes
Duration: 24 hours
Component Cost: 10 gp
Market Price: 50 gp
Key Skill: Arcana (no check)

You or a creature within 2 squares of you is warded against becoming dirty.

Simbul’s Conversion

Taking a moment to breathe and concentrate intently on your powers, you convert arcane energy into curing.

Level: 1
Category: Restoration
Time: 1 minute
Duration: Instantaneous
Component Cost: 25 gp
Market Price: 125 gp
Key Skill: Arcana (no check)

Favored by ritual casters accustomed to long battles and constant warfare, Simbul’s Conversion allows an individual to convert powerful spells into healing reserves. The Simbul taught this ritual to many of her apprentices, and it has since become widely employed as an emergency resource.

After performing this ritual, you sacrifice any number of unused daily arcane powers and regain an equal number of healing surges. You cannot exceed your normal maximum number of healing surges per day.

Wizard’s Curtain

Some activities call for privacy.

Level: 1
Category: Warding
Time: 10 minutes
Duration: 24 hours
Component Cost: 30 gp
Market Price: 75 gp
Key Skill: Arcana (no check)

You draw a curtain or several curtains from nowhere to ensure your visual privacy. The curtain is nearly opaque and appears in any pattern or colors your desire. The ritual obscures all sight lines into a single room (or a burst 4 area), applying a –10 penalty to Perception checks to see anything inside the warded area
